Giant Leap is an endless network of creative people and producers led by Jane Evans.
Jane Evans started her career as an art director at London’s hot shop Leagas Delaney, working on Harvey Nichols, Philips, Tetley Bitter and ICI, she picked up a Campaign Press Award and a finalist in D&AD before the age of twenty.
She then moved to Humphreys Bull and Barker (which became KHBB) and carried on producing award winning work for clients such as Saab, Rotary Watches and Carlsberg.
In 1987 she moved to Australia and worked for local agencies like John Bevins and Clemenger along with a few years at Ogilvy and Mather and JWT working on accounts such as Tia Maria, Lotteries, Cunard Cruiselines and Sunsilk (which she still consults on to the Asia Pacific region for JWT on occasion).
For over twenty years in both London and Australia, she has created global campaigns for everything from American Express and Pepsi to OMO Washing powder. The “Lipstick Commercial” won the Unilever Grand Prix and was remade around the world. She helped Sydney win the Olympics in 2000 and was regional Creative Director for J Walter Thompson with responsibility for the Kodak account in the Asia Pacific region.
Throughout her career Jane has always been involved in ‘futuring’ for clients. In 1990 she helped Panadol understand the implications of alternative medicines (practically unheard of at the time) and in 1994 she was part of the international strategic team to look into the implications of the digital age for Kodak.
In 1996 Jane left mainstream advertising to set up her own creative company. Her first client was the Malt Shovel Brewery who produced the James Squire brand of beer that she designed and created. Within five years James Squire beers sold over $10m a year and was the fastest growing brand in the Lion Nathan stable. Jane also launched the 16-26 brand of clothing (for Katies) for larger women and built it to a company with a turnover of $50m within a year.
Jane is a vocal advocate for positive portrayal in the media and has made regular appearances on Channel Seven’s Sunrise show as a media commentator, she has appeared on many TV shows and her articles have appeared in Business review weekly and Vive magazine.
For the last few years Jane has been passionate about the new media landscape and has been honing her writing skills to enable true commercial and creative projects to become a reality. In the last twelve months she has written three feature films and two web series, while still creating award winning advertising for her clients that include Culligan Water, Digital Lifeware and Malt Shovel Brewery to name a few.
